Committees are the working machinery of the Bishop PTO. They plan and promote activities for our children and their families. We appreciate everyone who volunteers his or her time and abilities to chair or serve on a committee. If you are interested in serving in a particular area, please use this list to contact the appropriate person, or you may contact any PTO officer. Learn more about volunteer activities and how you can support the PTO at our monthly meetings, in the school library, the second Wednesday of each month.

Room Parents - Contact Anna Pisania
Room Parents act as liaisons between classroom teachers and the parents in the class. Each class typically has two individuals who work with teachers to find volunteers for classroom celebrations, field trips, Teacher Appreciation and the Bear Fair classroom game. This is a meaningful way to support your child’s teacher, while getting to know your child’s classmates and their parents.
Gardening and Composting - Contact Amanda Maltais
We built a Bishop Community Garden in 2015 with the help of many passionate student, teacher and parent volunteers. If you love gardening and have an hour or two to spare...this is a perfect opportunity to share your green thumb with us and learn more about our commitment to a garden classroom. If you are interested in helping out with the garden and compost programs, contact Amanda Maltais (compost) at email@example.com.

Bishop PTO Directory - Contact Leah Nelson
The Bishop Directory is compiled each year and printed on PTO dollars. To make this happen, we ask for extra volunteer help as well as a few advertising spots. The booklet comprises an alphabetical list of families, class lists, teacher contact information, important dates, and other useful information. To be included in the directory you must OPT-IN by September 30th. Go to this link to register: http://www.arlington.k12.ma.us/ptodirectory/.
