Arlington EATS snacks at Bishop
Arlington Public Schools offer free and reduced price lunches that feed more than 500 students on school days. When school is not in session, family food resources are stretched. Arlington EATS’ mission is to help our students Eat All Through Summer and the school year. Since its formation in 2014, EATS has grown to operate through four primary programs: Summer Lunches, February and April Vacation Lunches, School Snacks, and the Weekend Food Program.
Arlington EATS provides snacks for students who need them in most of Arlington's schools. Here at Bishop, EATS has been supporting snacks since the spring of 2015. Snacks are chosen from an approved list of choices compiled by the Nurse Leader for APS Health and Nursing Services and are delivered to school weekly by parent volunteers. Bishop's snacks are available in the cafeteria every morning until lunch periods begin for any child who needs one.
If you, your family, or a community group you work with would like to donate snack supplies, prep snack bags, or if you would like to get involved with the snack program, please contact Skye Stewart at skyes_33@yahoo.com. If you need assistance for your family, please contact Mr. McAneny.
