With less than two months remaining in this school year, we are writing to say thank you for all you do.
The Parent Teacher Organization at the Bishop School is a volunteer-run organization that coordinates activities which help strengthen and improve the Bishop School through academic enrichment programs, teacher and staff support, school improvement projects, and community building events. Events such as this week's Teacher Appreciation Week and the upcoming Bishop Bear Fair are all possible because of parent and community organizers, and volunteer support.
Did your family enjoy this year's Bishop Theater program production of Seussical Jr.? Please thank a parent volunteer! Did you notice the sparkle in your child's classroom following the school-wide Clean-Up Day (January 26) or how great the school grounds looked after the Grounds Clean-Up Day (April 27)? Thank those parent volunteers! Did your family go skating with the school at the Ed Burns Arena (April 12), or join us for Movie Night (March 1), Games Night (January 4), the Pumpkin Sale (October 6), or the Bishop Walk-a-thon (November 2)? We hope you enjoyed all these events. Thank you to all parents, teachers and community members that gave your time and energy to help make these wonderful events and others possible!
If you haven't had the chance to help at a Bishop PTO event - the Bishop Bear Fair (May 18) needs you! Volunteer your time; help your child sell raffle tickets; bake a cake for the Cake Walk or other yummy treats for the Bake Sale; donate used toys, games and other items to the Used Goods sale; donate prizes; donate plants for the Plant Sale; help in any way you can! We would also like to ask you to consider making a contribution to the PTO's Annual Fund if you haven't already done so. Each year, the PTO raises over $40,000 through it's fundraising activities to support students and staff at the Bishop School. This year, the PTO will spend nearly $140 per student on academic and enrichment programs, supplies, and improvement projects at the school. Please help if you can! For every $50 you give, the PTO will give you 10 Bear Bucks to spend at the Bear Fair (max. of 50 Bear Bucks). Please complete the form online for Bear Bucks.
